The Daily Yankeeland - 7/29

By now you know the Yankees and Jorge Posada have mutually agreed that his shoulder surgery should be done now to allow him enough rehab time to get ready for 2009.

Phil Hughes' rehab was delayed one day due to foul weather in Florida. He'll be on the mound in Charleston today rather than Tampa.

Hideki Matsui took 20 swings off the tee yesterday and 5 swings with soft toss. He's hoping to be back in 2 weeks.

Carl Pavano will be pitching, could this really be happening?, for the Charleston as well today.

Mike Ashmore reports that Mark Melancon and Chase Wright have been promoted from Trenton to Scranton. Steven White is going in the opposite direction.
